As I relax here at Franco’s, an à la carte restaurant in a resort on my day off, a thought crossed my mind. What could I do differently if given another opportunity in life—not that I’m seeking one—but to shift my perspective on the life I currently lead?

If I were to describe my surroundings, I’m sitting beneath a clear blue sky, with the shadows of palm trees overhead and white birds gliding gracefully above me. There’s a lively atmosphere filled with tourists bustling around and the upbeat sound of aqua Zumba in the pool, where people are dancing joyfully in the water. It’s truly refreshing to be surrounded by such beautiful elements of creation—the sea, the sky, the trees, and the flowers—it brings me closer to my Creator. As my role model Barbara reminds me, we often spend our days fixated on our phones, neglecting to appreciate the little things around us, especially nature. There is healing found in nature that our Creator has blessed us with.
If I had the opportunity to change my life, I would save a substantial amount of money and purchase a house with both a front and back yard. In the back yard, I would cultivate plenty of healthy green vegetables and fruits, while in the front yard, I would plant an array of flowers along with a cozy spot for enjoying my morning coffee or tea, complete with a small hut and charming seating area. For the back yard, I envision creating a space for family gatherings that includes outdoor furniture, a large table, and an area for barbecuing with loved ones. Additionally, I would ensure that the ambiance is warm orange; no LED lights would be allowed in my home.
